Morning Worship, Palm Sunday, Matthew 21:1-11, A King on a Donkey?

Now when they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying, “Say to the daughter of Zion, jesus triumphal entry‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey,on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”  The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them. Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” 10 And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” 11 And the crowds said, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”

Combination Service Tonight with Youth @ 6:30pm, Proverbs 13:1-11

13-1-11 Notes

Come join us tonight as we have one of our special combination services with all the adults and youth together.  We will have prayer time, followed by the youth leading us in some worship songs and Scripture reading and Brother Brad will teach us in Proverbs 13:1-11.

A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke. From the fruit of his mouth a man eats what is good, but the desire of the treacherous is for violence.  Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life;he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.  The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.  The righteous hates falsehood, but the wicked brings shame and disgrace.  Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, but sin overthrows the wicked.  One pretends to be rich, yet has nothing;  another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.  The ransom of a man’s life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat.  The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out.  10 By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom. 11 Wealth gained hastilywill dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
