Morning Worship, How is Your Walk? The Fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:16-26, Part 1

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Notes for Gal 5, 16-26 Fruit of the Spirit, Part 1

We finished our exposition on the “works of the flesh” so this Sunday we will begin our study on the Fruit of the Spirit with the “most excellent way,” as Paul describes it, through AGAPE LOVE.  We will begin in Galatians 5 but we will spend the majority of our time expounding 1 Corintians 13, as it is the most extensive description of Biblical love in the New Testament.  So please come and learn from the heart of God on one of the most misunderstood words in the Scriptures, LOVE.

Morning Worship, How is Your Walk? In the Spirit or the Flesh? Galatians 5:16-26, Part 4

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

This Sunday come and enjoy part 4 of our in depth look at the works of the flesh.  This should be the last message before we begin expound the fruit of the Spirit.  What I have found through my study is that I am more in the flesh at times than I realized.  How does this affect my ability as a Christian leader?  Husband?  Father?  Son?  We at the very least need to have the courage too look at ourselves in the “mirror of the law” –

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

This Sunday we look at

jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these…
